BG&E is appointed to the upgrade of O’Herns Road in Epping, Victoria
We are proud to announce that the early works for the $81 million upgrade of O’Herns Road in Epping, Victoria have commenced with construction work scheduled to be completed in 2018.
This joint Australian and Victorian government project will: •reduce congestion at the new intersection
•replace the roundabout at O’Herns Road and High Street with traffic lights, and add a raised platform at the intersection to improve safety
•provide better access to the Hume Freeway for the northern community, including those in Epping and Epping North
•reduce congestion on Cooper Street, Miller Street and High Street
•make it safer for pedestrians and cyclists to get around
•make it easier for people to access the Cooper Street Employment Area, Epping Activity Centre, and the Melbourne Wholesale Market
•improve response times for emergency services vehicles
This project will expand our commitment to safe system principles in Victoria.
We are confident our experience and expertise will result in the successful completion of Stage 1 of this project, with procurement underway for the second stage.
