BANKSIA APARTMENTS MELBOURNE, VICTORIA
Architect: McBride Charles Ryan
The Banksia apartment tower is the latest MAB development in the Docklands New Quay precinct. The 18-storey tower was designed by McBride Charles Ryan Architects and incorporates 118 apartments. The façade is defined by the three-dimensional moulded feature elements, which are inspired by the Banksia wild flower.
The feature elements consist of Glass Reinforced Polymer to the building’s crown and ground floor colonnade and soffit features. Slab edge features to intermediate levels consist of Glass Reinforced Concrete elements. BG&E were engaged by MAB as façade consultants from early architectural concept development through design development and construction phases of the project.
