- BG&E undertook re-engineering of the building’s floors and columns system to suit the Contractor’s equipment and construction methodology.
BG&E ALTERNATIVE DESIGN
- Use of precast concrete floors spanning from the core to the façade acting compositely with the perimeter beams through an in-situ structural concrete topping.
- Use of structural steel circular hollow sections columns designed on a fire engineering basis.
- The structural format proposed by BG&E enabled completion of two floors per week throughout the construction cycle. Early handover of the low-rise floor was achieved on programme, and handover of the high-rise was 5 months ahead of schedule.
