The Sydney Metro (TSE) Tunnel Station Excavation Project

BG&E, in a Joint Venture with Arcadis, are providing the civil, structural and durability engineering services for the new Sydney Metro Tunnel Station Excavation (TSE) project, with the preliminary design phase of the project having commenced in late 2017.

The TSE project will extend the metro rail from the Sydney Metro Northwest at Chatswood, beneath Sydney Harbour, and through Sydney’s CBD to Sydenham.

The 15.5km extension consists of twin tunnels and will include a 750m long section running under Sydney Harbour. The plan will also include additional stations at Crows Nest, Victoria Cross (North Sydney), Barangaroo, Martin Place, Pitt Street and Waterloo.

Entry and exit for the tunnels will be via dive structures at Chatswood and Marrickville, north of Sydenham Station. Completion of this section of the Sydney Metro Project is expected to be in 2021.
