Peter was appointed to the role of Director International in July 2017 as part of BG&E’s corporate strategy for growth and diversification. With this new appointment, Peter is consolidating his role in growing and diversifying BG&E's civil and transport infrastructure capabilities across the Company’s existing international offices as well as planning for future new markets and clients.
As part of the BG&E Leadership Team, Peter is also involved in the development of BG&E policies in regards to Quality Assurance, Work Health & Safety and Risk Management. Before his appointment as Director International, Peter's role was National Director Bridges & Specialist Structures. Having dedicated his career to the bridge and transport engineering field, Peter’s extensive experience in the transport sector covers a wide spectrum of engineering services, such as maintenance and remedial strategies, asset management and strengthening design, inspection and structural investigation.
Peter’s bridge experience extends to the design of pre-stressed concrete bridges, incremental launch bridges, reinforced concrete bridges, RC concrete & steel beam composite bridges, timber bridge refurbishment and culvert structures. He was also instrumental in the development of BG&E’s Water Engineering Group providing high level expertise in surface water engineering services, flood risk management study and urban planning. Peter will continue to provide advice and support to the BG&E Bridges & Specialist Structures and Water Engineering groups.
PETER DE BRUIN
Director Western Region
Peter is the Director WA and has 23 years engineering experience in the design and project’s management of reinforced concrete, structural steel structures and civil works. Under his leadership, our Middle Eastern offices were established and during his tenure developed a reputation as a leading design-practice of high rise buildings. Peter is well known for providing solutions that are practical and respond to clients’ expectations. He continues to be involved at a high level in project contract negotiations, financial control and risk management across the Group.
General Counsel (B.A., L.L.B)
Jennifer was admitted to practice in 1994 and has held various senior roles in the legal profession. She has a wealth of legal and commercial experience including contract and construction law, dispute resolution, insurance and competition and regulatory law.
Jennifer has provided BG&E’s in house legal services since 2011 and brings to bear her commercial nous, strategic focus and legal expertise on commercial operations.
She is also a member of the Risk Management Group and is heavily involved in managing risk across the global business together with various aspects of compliance and governance.
Buildings Lead – WA
Donald joined BG&E in 2003, initially as a Design Manager in our Dubai Office; he is now the BG&E Director responsible for the Perth Building Group.With over 30 years of experience as a structural engineer, Donald has been involved in the design and project management of high rise, healthcare, commercial, residential, educational and industrial buildings and also marine structures.
Donald provides clients with cross-sector technical knowledge across a range of project procurement packages including Traditional, ECI, Design and Construct and Managing Contractors’ contract. His expertise extends to working with multi-disciplinary teams from concept design through to contract administration.
Donald has maintained his role in supporting BG&E projects leaders in delivering engineering services. His attention to quality and detail ensures BG&E design teams deliver high-standard engineering services.
Corporate Services Manager/Chief Financial Officer
Yvette is a finance professional with broad experience across finance, operations and other related support services. Since joining BG&E in 1999 after relocating from interstate, Yvette has been responsible for all aspects of Support Services for the Company.
Yvette is a strong leader who continues to support the growth of the Group with the implementation of policies, procedures and systems that drive progress and support the business.
She works closely with the Directors and Management team, developing and implementing business improvement initiatives to support BG&E’s success as one of Australia’s prominent consulting engineering practices, with a growing international presence.
Bridge Lead – WA
Patrick is an Associate Director with more than 17 years’ experience as a structural engineer in the BG&E Bridge Team.
Patrick leads multidisciplinary teams in the areas of structural, civil, waterways and geotechnical design; acting as interface between clients, stakeholders, authorities and third parties. He is familiar with a variety of contract delivery types and is experienced in meeting client requirements.
Under his leadership the Bridge Team has provided engineering services on numerous major infrastructure projects in the transport and resource sectors, including major road and railway structures.
Patrick likes to work closely with clients to identify their key drivers and to determine the best-for-project approach to the design process. His Bridge Teams deliver a variety of engineering services including concept design and planning, detailed design, verification, preparation of construction documents, tender reviews, and provision of technical advice during construction, remedial works, inspection and maintenance.
Anthony has 25 years’ experience in the Transport Sector and is highly respected by his clients and teams of engineers for his approach to resolving technical issues and developing appropriate solutions. Over the years Anthony has acquired extensive experience in managing complex multidisciplinary projects which require collaboration between key stakeholders and the community as part of a highly effective project management process. His outstanding skills in managing people and budgets have led him to take on the role of Associate Director – WA Civil Team Lead.
In his approach to design, Anthony applies best-for-project principles, working collaboratively with reference groups and key stakeholders to develop preferred options. His priority to ensure that the project's outcome reflect the client's vision and requirements has led him to collaborate across a wide range of professions including transport planners, civil engineers, traffic modellers, network operations specialists, aviation engineers, groundwater hydrologists and geotechnical engineers, environmental scientists, indigenous heritage specialists, architects and structural engineers, landscape architects and many more.
Anthony maintains an overview of the infrastructure engineering team in the office and supports project leaders on the delivery phase of the projects.
