Matthew Ing has served on the Board since 2019.
He is a structural engineer who has worked in the United Kingdom (UK) and New Zealand (NZ) prior to joining BG&E in 2015. His background is in bridge and structures design for infrastructure projects across road and rail. Matthew has led senior leadership roles on a number of significant city-shaping projects, including Sydney Metro City and Southwest and Metro West, Sydney Gateway, and the Western Sydney Airport Metro.
In January 2022, Matthew was appointed as the New South Wales / New Zealand Lead, and also has an overarching responsibility for the Manila drafting centre. With more than 22 years’ experience in providing exceptional outcomes for clients, he is firmly focused on continuing to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions for clients and shareholders, as well as helping his teams to navigate through the commercial and technical complexities of major projects and mentoring BG&E’s next generation of leaders.
Matthew is a member of Engineers Australia, and the Institution of Civil Engineers in the UK. In addition to his director and operational responsibilities, he chairs BG&E’s Finance & Audit Committee and is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and Strategy Committee.
