With over 20 years of experience as a structural consulting engineer, Brent specialises in leading complex government, institutional, commercial, and residential projects. His career is marked by his role as a key leader in major developments such as the $2B Fiona Stanley Hospital and the world leading Optus Stadium in Perth, WA.
In his dual capacity at BG&E, he serve as both the Digital Engineering Leader and Defence Sector Lead. As the Defence Sector Lead, he has strategically expanded BG&E’s Defence project portfolio, successfully winning and directing critical initiatives like the RAAF Woomera Redevelopment and the NCIS-4A Naval Capability Infrastructure Sub-program. These projects have not only enhanced BG&E’s capabilities in national defence infrastructure but have also solidified our reputation for excellence in project delivery and client engagement.
As the Digital Engineering Leader, Brent has pioneered the adoption of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies withing BG&E in 2008, propelling BG&E to achieve ISO 19650 certification in 2020. His efforts have been crucial in transforming BG&E’s approach to digital engineering and information management, leading to significant advancements in BG&E design, and manage complex engineering projects.
Recognized for his ability to blend deep technical expertise with strategic digital innovations, he is committed to advancing engineering practices that are sustainable, effective, and future-ready. Brent’s role in industry-leading organisations, such as the Rail Industry Safety and Standards Board, where he was a design group member for their new Digital Engineering Standard AS7739, highlights his dedication to influencing the evolution of digital engineering standards globally.
