Gaye McMath has over 20 years’ experience as a Non-Executive Director (NED) with publicly listed, government trading, and not-for-profit organisations.
She is based in Perth and in addition to her role at BG&E as a NED, Gaye is also the Deputy Chair of the Southern Ports Authority in Western Australia (WA), a NED of Dementia Australia and Chancellorof Edith Cowan University.
Gaye’s executive experience spans four decades across various sectors, including Energy, Infrastructure, Property, Finance, Education, Healthcare, Tourism, Mining and Resources, and local government.
Her most recent role was as Deputy Chair Commissioner at the City of Perth, where Gaye played a vital role in enabling positive change specifically in the areas of economic activation, culture and the arts, community services, homelessness, and education.
Prior to that Gaye, was the Chief Financial and Chief Operating Officer at University of WA, Pro-Vice Chancellor Resources and Chief Financial Officer at Murdoch University, and Executive Director Perth Education City.
Earlier in her career Gaye held senior roles at BHP in strategy, planning, accounting, finance, commercial and treasury management. She also served as a BHP nominated Director on various mining and manufacturing joint venture boards.
She has a Bachelor of Commerce, a Master of Business Administration, and is a Fellow of CPA Australia and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Gaye joined BG&E’s Board in September 2021 and is the Chair of the Environmental, Social & Governance Committee, the Chair of the Diversity, Equality & Inclusion Committee, and a member of the People & Remuneration Committee.
