Paul Farrugia joined BG&E 2019 and is a commercial executive with broad experience across finance, operations and corporate services. He is a Big-4 trained Chartered Accountant and has worked in international property and infrastructure, funds management and technology companies.
He has held several Board and Company Secretary roles and sits on the boards of a Sydney based Surf Lifesaving Club, a specialist HR consultancy and an investment company.
Since joining BG&E, he has been responsible for the Corporate Services team which includes the finance, ICT, people & culture, marketing & communications, and administration functions. He is focussed on implementing governance structures, developing systems and processes which support operational efficiency, and promoting on-going growth.
Paul and his team work closely with the Group’s Directors and management to implement initiatives that build on BG&E’s success as one of Australia’s prominent consulting engineering practices with a growing international presence.
He was appointed to the Board in November 2021 and serves as the Company Secretary and Chief Financial Officer/Chief Commercial Officer. He is also a member of BG&E’s Finance & Audit, Investment, and People & Remuneration Committees.
Paul also invests his time in community-based activities and is a trainer in surf lifesaving and enjoys ocean swimming.
