Auckland International Airport Transport Hub 1
The ambitious Auckland airport expansion and redevelopment project encompasses a new second runway and merging of the international and domestic terminals, offering a seamless and more efficient travel experience in anticipation of a post-Covid travel rebound.
BG&E is providing structural peer review services for the New Zealand (NZ) $200 million transport hub, which comprises one of four anchor projects from the major airport infrastructure upgrade that are progressing as part of the August 2021 Covid Reset Plan.
The new transport hub, connected to the international terminal by an enclosed skybridge, will deliver enhanced access to commercial and public transport options. A new covered pick up/drop off area, valet services and covered car parks will extend the comfort and convenience of the travel journey to and from the airport.
The Auckland Airport Precinct-Wide Infrastructure Plan answers the call of New Zealander’s for a better travel experience, including improved efficiency, speed and comfort for domestic and international travellers.
