Supporting Good Mental Health Everyday

Today is R U OK? Day, an international day of action, which serves as a reminder for us to regularly check in with family, friends and colleagues, and ask R U OK?

The mission of this initiative is to inspire and empower you to meaningfully connect with people in your world and lend support to them. People who may be doing it tough with lockdown restrictions, trying to navigate through their ‘new normal’ and/or feeling a little tense (compared to pre-pandemic).

By starting a conversation, you could help somebody to open up. If they say they are not ok, you could use some of the R U OK? resources to help them find strategies to better manage the load. If they are ok, that person will know you’re someone who cares enough to ask.

Importantly… before you look out for others, please look out for yourselves. If you’re not in the right headspace to pursue a conversation – that’s okay. Perhaps reach out to somebody to have a chat.

This video includes some great tips about how to ask R U OK? at work.
