Boundary Road and Bruce Highway Interchange

This $80.3 million project included the construction of a new six-lane bridge over the Bruce Highway, as part of a major upgrade of the Boundary Road Interchange, in Narangba on the northern outskirts of Brisbane. It incorporates four lanes for the Boundary Road traffic, a shared pedestrian and cyclist pathway and upgraded on and off-ramps.

BG&E provided the temporary traffic management design for the new four-lane overpass bridge, demolition of the existing bridge and the reconfiguring of the existing interchange.

Our innovative staging plans and long-term designs for the interchange, translated to one stage of the construction works being eliminated which helped our client to deliver the project ahead of schedule.

During construction, the project provided more than 100 jobs locally, and upon completion, the upgrade transformed the area by enabling vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians to more quickly and safely negotiate the intersection.
