Hotel Grand Chancellor is boosting its New Zealand (NZ) network, committing to the first newbuild hotel in the country, to help maximise the return of international visitation, post pandemic.
A 12-storey newbuild hotel is being constructed on a site that is across the road from the NZ International Convention Centre on Wellesley Street West in Auckland.
BG&E is providing construction engineering services for the 191-room hotel that will feature a ground floor café and first floor restaurant.
The internal design of new hotel will include a nine-storey mural etched into the precast panels at the southern end. The mural will reflect a forest setting and will be complemented by an array of native plants scattered around the hotel.
The hotel is slated for completion in 2023.
