Located in the centre of the Civic Cultural Precinct in Newcastle, Sky Residences features 109 modern apartments across two towers and amenities including a 19th floor Sky Lounge rooftop terrace, state-of-the-art fitness centre, fully equipped gymnasium, heated outdoor pool and a landscaped garden retreat.

BG&E provided structural engineering services for Sky Residences, specifically, we designed and analysed both buildings and basements for vertical and lateral loads, including the design of the raft foundation of the buildings.

The two reinforced concrete residential towers of 19 and 10-storeys will be on a common two-level basement and are being constructed on a site with a high-water table, mine subsidence and a deep compressible clay layer.

Upon completion Sky Residences will serve to introduce 113 new homes to the region, inclusive of 30 affordable housing apartments for Evolve Housing, with close proximity to the Civic Light Rail Station, Art Gallery and University of Newcastle.

Construction of Sky Residences began in October 2019 and in 2022 stage two of the sold-out project was completed.
