SwanCare Group Retirement Village is a 15-hectare site located in Bentley Park, just 15 minutes from Perth. Offering a range of accommodation styles including self-contained homes, terraces and apartments, this village can support residents in independent living, home care and residential care.

BG&E contributed structural and civil engineering to the five-storey building and basement.

The apartment complex was constructed using two-way flat plate reinforced concrete slabs supported by loadbearing Ritek walls. The basement level uses a combination of load bearing concrete retaining walls and CFA piles to the boundary. The upper residential levels are supported on reinforced concrete Ritek walls over concrete columns. Shallow concrete pad footings provide the foundation system.

Due to cost constraints, BG&E advised substituting CFA piles for propped cantilever retaining walls and decreasing the basement size which represented significant cost savings.

SwanCare’s Bentley Park group retirement home allows residents to manage affairs onsite with access to a host of facilities, including cafes, op shop, medical centre, hair and beauty salon, grocery store, outdoor and indoor bowling greens, auditorium, computer facilities, library, community gardens, workshop, vegetable beds and a newly built leisure precinct.

The SwanCare Group Retirement Village was completed in 2017.
