The King Fahad Medical City is at the vanguard of clinical care in the Middle East, providing world-class diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitation services in the region.

In 2018, the healthcare campus was expanded to include a 231-bed Cancer Treatment Centre, which offers innovative proton beam treatment, and the Prince Salman Heart Centre which offers advanced cardiac care.

BG&E provided construction engineering services for the expansion which spans three levels, encompasses two basement levels and has a visually striking ground floor entrance. While linked to the main hospital building and a new central services building, these facilities are separately contained and meet the highest environmental standards.

Building Information Modelling was used as the central co-ordination tool to support the construction process and rigid 18-month construction programme.

This pioneering 1,200-bed healthcare facility provides services for approximately 30,000 inpatients and 500,000 outpatients annually.
