Dubai’s Motor City Automall and Showroom is a unique development which represents approximately 20 per cent of the entire Motor City Precinct.
The project includes a 38-storey shell and core office tower, with two basement levels. The tower is the tallest building in Motor City and provides sweeping panoramic views of the race track and precinct.
The development incorporates a giant 114,000-square metre car sales showroom spanning across levels three and four, and a 7,000-seat grandstand with 36 VIP suites, from which motor racing can be viewed at the adjacent Automall track.
BG&E provided structural engineering services for the project, specifically, re-engineering the roof structure and delivering the full design, documentation and supervision.
Some of the key features included:
- structural steelwork for the roof structure over the car sales showroom;
- lower level concrete structures including precast, post-tensioned and insitu concrete; and
- hollow-core flooring and post-tensioned slabs.
