Situated in the vibrant heart of Leederville, the three-storey Rosewood Aged Care Facility incorporates 120 beds, an area for dementia support, a café and wellness clinic.
BG&E provided structural engineering for the facility, which comprises a single-level basement and three levels of aged care accommodation. The building has reinforced concrete floor slabs, supported on concrete columns, load bearing brickwork walls with reinforced concrete walls providing lateral stability, and a timber framed roof.
The ground conditions of the site were difficult due to the presence of uncontrolled fill, contaminants and a high ground water table. The foundation and basement construction techniques that were deployed included ground improvement, secant piled walling and bored piling.
Rosewood is a leading provider of high-level residential aged care for communities in Perth’s west.
