Bridges

Vital to economic and social development, bridges are the link that connects transportation and communities.

The history of bridges is long and colourful, with the first bridge in the world dating back to the 13th century BC. For the past 50 years, BG&E has been at the forefront of bridge design. We were the first engineering consultancy to introduce incremental launching techniques into Australia.

Since then, we have developed significant expertise in the design of complex bridges, across all types of construction, bridge types, and materials. Our technical skills and knowledge of material behaviour ensures we provide award-winning solutions for clients.

Our bridge capabilities are best characterised as inventive, resilient and sophisticated, and include planning and feasibility studies, conceptual, schematic and detailed design, construction documentation and site support.

From balanced cantilever, segmental, incrementally launched and cable stayed, to precast modular components, insitu and prefabricated, BG&E has a well-deserved reputation for delivering durable structures with a focus on constructability.
